If you’re unsure what you’re entitled to, we’re happy to help guide you through the process.
How do you support children settling in?
Starting preschool is a big step, and we take a gentle, child-centred approach. We offer:
A friendly visit and informal chat
A flexible settling-in plan tailored to your child
Regular updates and open communication
Our aim is to ensure both children and parents feel confident and reassured.
How do you support children’s independence?
We gently encourage children to “have a go” throughout the day. This includes:
Pouring their own drinks at snack time
Choosing activities that interest them
Helping to tidy up and care for their environment
These everyday routines help build confidence, independence and self-esteem.
How do you support children with SEND?
We are proud to offer inclusive support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Activities are thoughtfully adapted so every child can take part, and we work closely with parents and professionals to support each child’s individual needs.
Do you support children with English as an Additional Language (EAL)?
Yes. We value and celebrate children’s home languages and cultures. Staff may use key words from a child’s home language and provide additional support to help children feel secure, included and confident in their communication.
How do you keep children safe?
Children’s safety and wellbeing are our top priority. We have effective safeguarding arrangements in place and maintain an open, positive safeguarding culture. All staff are trained to follow safeguarding procedures and act in the best interests of every child.
How do you promote health and hygiene?
Good hygiene and healthy habits are part of our daily routine. Children are supported to:
Wash their hands regularly and independently
Learn about healthy food choices
Understand the importance of good oral health
These routines help children develop lifelong healthy habits.
What should my child bring with them?
What does my child need to bring with them?
Please ensure your child comes to nursery with the following items:
- A named water bottle
- A packed lunch if they are staying all day
- A coat and wellington boots for rainy days(We provide wetsuits for the children, so there is no need for parents to purchase these.)
- Any required comfort items (such as a dummy or comforter), clearly labelled
All nappies, wipes, and other essential care items are provided by us.
How will I receive updates about my child’s day?
We use an online learning journal system called Tapestry to keep you updated on your child’s development. Through the app, you’ll receive regular photo updates, observations, and notes about your child’s learning and experiences.
During your child’s settling-in sessions, a member of our team will take the time to talk you through how Tapestry works and show you how to access and use the app, so you feel confident staying connected with your child’s journey.
How can I book a visit?
